What is ZUMBA®?
A Latin Inspired Dance Fitness Workout. It's a cardiovascular
workout which will get your heart pumping! ZUMBA® is about having
fun – Whether it’s a giggle or a laugh out loud. We shake our booty - and other body parts besides!.
How much does a class cost?
Please refer to the "Classes" page for prices.
Do I need to book for classes?
You do not need to book in advance for any of my classes. Please note any holiday dates shown on the
home page before attending. If you are
unsure if the class is running, please contact me in advance.
Are there any age restrictions?
11-15 year olds are welcome in ZUMBA® at 7.35pm on Monday evening if
accompanied by an adult taking part in the class. All other classes are for age 16 or over.
What should I wear?
Something comfortable but we recommend sports clothing such as a tracksuit,
leggings, t-shirt, vest top or sweatshirt.
What sort of footwear should I wear?
Trainers with flat soles.
Do I need to bring anything?
A bottle of water and maybe a sweat towel.
What is the difference between ZUMBA® and ZUMBA®
Gold?
ZUMBA® Gold is a less intense workout to ZUMBA®.
You will find less jumping, less turning, and less impact on the joints.
Songs are not slower, although more thought is given to the choice of music and
the speed of it.
Who is ZUMBA® Gold suitable for?
ZUMBA® Gold is suitable for everyone, but particularly for those who
prefer a lower impact workout. That might be those of an older age group,
those with injuries or health conditions, or those returning to exercise after
a long absence. It can also be a good place to start if you are new to
exercise.
What is the difference between ZUMBA®
Toning and ZUMBA®?
ZUMBA® Toning uses toning sticks. These are light weights
to encourage conscious muscle contraction. The class incorporates
toning exercises alongside low intensity dance moves whereas ZUMBA® is
solely a dance class.
Do I need my own Toning Sticks?
We have some available for you to use for your first few classes. Once you decide you like the class, you can
purchase your own pair. eBay is a great
place to look.
Can I do ZUMBA® if I am pregnant?
Yes but there may be some modifications you need to make, so please do let
me know if you are pregnant.
I've just had a baby. Can I come to classes?
If you had a natural birth, you should wait until after your 6-week check-up,
and if you had a c-section, you should wait until after your 12-week
check. Provided everything is fine, you are more than welcome to come
along after that.
What should I do if I have any concerns about my health?
I ask all new participants to fill in a short health questionnaire
before their first class. Depending on what you disclose, you may need to
consult with your GP prior to exercising.
If you are concerned that this may be the case, please contact me to discuss
prior to attending.
